The night she disappeared

Earlier that evening

Brittany is at her grandmother's house in Sturgis doing laundry, seen with an unknown man. She leaves with him.

About 8:51 PM · the crash

Their car slides into a ditch on Fawn River Road in freezing fog. The car is left behind; nobody takes it. Brittany is left barefoot, coatless and bleeding.

8:51 PM · the 911 call

She reaches an elderly neighbor's back door. He lends her a coat and calls 911; she tells the dispatcher it's "off of Fawn River," then becomes agitated.

The last sighting

At a second home, a teenager alone inside locks eyes with her through a window. No one sees Brittany again.

8:51p EST from John's home on Fawn River Road.

No.

No. Sheldon was in the process of purchasing the vehicle from his aunt. Officers were able to locate Sheldon, in part, because of mail that was in the vehicle.

No. It has never been released to the public.

This is more than unlikely. Witness protection (now called the Witness Security Program) is only provided to witnesses whose life is at risk because of testimony determined to be necessary for the successful prosecution of a criminal case. Of course, the witness's testimony must be considered credible, and must also be guaranteed, meaning that the witness isn't going to back out of giving testimony in court. We've seen nothing that indicates this would apply to Brittany.

Typically, late on Fridays. This is the plan. There are exceptions sometimes, we can't control technical difficulties, or other unforeseen circumstances. We do our very best to stick to this schedule. When there are changes in schedule, we will post to the community and to Patreon.

We never know how many episodes there will be. We don't plan for this because each season is unique.

Unfortunately, it appears he slipped through the cracks.

Yes. As of March 2023, there are two. One was done in 2019, and the other was done in 2023.

The newest sketch has been released to the public.

All we can say about this is that the first sketch was determined not to be accurate. As for the second sketch, we don't have an answer at this time.

According to the St. Joseph County Sheriffs Dept. January 2023. We learned about their plan to do so in June of 2022.

According to Brittany's family, they hadn't seen ES a number of years. Additionally, the heavy use of narcotics can significantly change a person's appearance. Throughout the season we heard several people comment on the drastic change in his appearance and/or demeanor.

When Brittany encountered John she was cold, in short sleeves, and no shoes. He gave her a hooded green sweatshirt. When she arrived at the teens house, he described her as wearing the hooded green sweatshirt.

John identified Brittany from a photo. The teen described the green sweatshirt John gave her.

No. The cause of death in each case has been reported as overdose.

Not that we're aware of.

Sheldon's car was a 2006 Mercury Milan, 4 door, maroon.
