No. Sheldon was in the process of purchasing the vehicle from his aunt. Officers were able to locate Sheldon, in part, because of mail that was in the vehicle.

This is more than unlikely. Witness protection (now called the Witness Security Program) is only provided to witnesses whose life is at risk because of testimony determined to be necessary for the successful prosecution of a criminal case. Of course, the witness's testimony must be considered credible, and must also be guaranteed, meaning that the witness isn't going to back out of giving testimony in court. We've seen nothing that indicates this would apply to Brittany.

When Brittany encountered John she was cold, in short sleeves, and no shoes. He gave her a hooded green sweatshirt. When she arrived at the teens house, he described her as wearing the hooded green sweatshirt.
